PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
10/29/2023
We at RIMA would like to thank everyone that came out for our TOYS FOR TOTS gift run in conjunction with the US Marine Corps. Reserve who will
distribute the toys to local children again this year. A special thank you to West Bay Community Action for hosting the start and to Kingston Bowl for the great
ending location to receive the riders with there toys.
As we move closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas we all look forward to the holiday season with family and friends. Lets look out for road conditions that
deteriorate the colder that it gets. Lets not forget the party goers and the ever present distracted drivers also.
In January the Legislative session starts on 1/02/2024 at the State House, RIMA will be there to greet our legislators. We will be looking at all Bills for good or bad
that will effect Bikers here in Rhode Island until the session ends June 30 2024.
Without RIMA there would not be a unified voice at the State House for Motorcycle Riders. In 2024 RIMA will start our 50th. year fighting for our rights. If you would
like to add your voice join RIMA today and make a difference.
If you currently have a Yahoo.com or AOL.com email address on file with RIMA, we need a different
email address. Please contact us so we can update your records. Contact either Nick at
Webmaster@RIMotorcycle.com or the membership director at Membership@RIMotorcycle.com
Our next Rima meeting will be on Tuesday 12/19/2023 at 7pm.

Other Notices and Comments
House Bill No.7123 SUB Aas amended (Governor)

BYAbney
ENTITLED,AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE STATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2023.

06/21/2022 Senate passed Sub A as amended in concurrence.

===============================
I checked the Bill Text just now -- to make sure that our Line Items stayed in exactly as written. ??

The Budget Line Items for the "Motorcycle Trade In Tax Exemption" "Passed" the Senate; now "In Concurrence" with the previously passed House SUB A.

Once the Budget Bill is transmitted to the Governor -- and signed in the coming days -- the Exemption will go into effect on October 1st, 2022 and remain in effect until June 30th, 2023.

Thanks for all of your hard work Paul! We would not be celebrating a Bill success without your efforts. Period.

L&R,
Cam Bigelow
RIMA Secretary
